Marica Baglieri
Italian illustrator & storyboard artist based in Venice
Born in Sicily in 1986, Marica Baglieri grew up immersed in creativity as the daughter of Gino Baglieri, one of the most prominent contemporary Sicilian artists. She left her homeland early on to move to Florence, embarking on a professional and academic journey that now spans over twenty years of experience.
After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts, she specialized at the Nemo Academy of Digital Arts and she immediately entered the advertising industry as a storyboard artist, collaborating with major international brands such as Fisher-Price, Mattel, and Ravensburger. Later, she relocated to Milan to work at the historic Studio Bozzetto which gave her the opportunity to collaborate with globally renowned figures, such as composer, conductor, and Academy Awards member Fabrizio Mancinelli, consolidating her expertise within the television animation sector.
Driven by a deep interest in human psychology, she expanded her expertise by training in Art Therapy. This professional path led to her current signature style: an abstract and minimalist language with a powerful visual impact, which still retains strong structural links to her background in illustration and animation.
Today she lives in Venice. Her contemporary artwork is featured and available for purchase on the global platform Artsy. Alongside her painting practice, she continues to collaborate with illustration agencies and publishing houses. Among her most notable recent projects is the artwork for the Giro d'Italia Donne for RCS Sport and the illustration "Venice" for which she was recently longlisted at the World Illustration Awards (WIA) in the Book Covers category.
